okay so I was rewatching Link’s memories in Breath of the Wild and I noticed some things. I don’t want to be That Person but I really thought this was interesting

after Link and zelda return from the spring of wisdom, we see that zelda is disappointed in herself because her powers don’t awaken. Urbosa tells Zelda that her last shot isn’t on Mount Lanaryu because anything could spark her powers. what’s interesting here is that right after Urbosa says this, the camera pans to Link…

I hadn’t noticed this before, but this literally foreshadows that it’s LINK—Link is ‘that thing’ that sparks Zelda’s powers to seal Ganon away. ( In memory 13, we see that Zelda’s desire to protect link awakens her sealing power. )

right after urbosa speaks mipha begins to tell zelda that thinking of the person she loves helps her use her healing powers. and what happens later?

link is dying, and zelda pleads to him to run to safety. however, he stays with her until his last breath. when the guardian aims at link, we see zelda throw herself in front of Link, and this refers back to what mipha said: ‘it helps when I think about [the person I love]’

so in the end, Zelda’s desire to protect link awoke her powers to defeat the calamity—not ceaseless praying (thanks Rhoam).
